You probably know that I'm a big fan of the public library system. And you may already know that you can check out magazines (quilting magazines!) from the library. But, I recently learned you can check out e-magazines from the library too! You can browse these on your computer, phone and tablet. It's super easy to get started. All you need to do is log on to (or create) your library account in your county, go to the e-magazine tab, create a Zinio account and you can start downloading magazines! The whole process took me about 10 minutes.
Not all libraries are created equal in the e-mag world. Here's what I found.
I'm in Baltimore County. There are a few crafty magazines for download, and one quilting magazine: Quilting Arts.
Baltimore City: you have a few knitting and other crafts, but sadly, no quilting.
Harford County: you hit the jackpot with American Patchwork and Quilting, Quilts and More and Quilting Arts.
Howard County: you need to talk to your library. No e-mags for you yet.
Anne Arundal: Quilting Arts and Quilts and More.
If your library has e-mags, you can even download back issues!
And speaking of libraries ~
Our next meeting will be on Sunday, January 12th, from 2-4 PM (board members meet 1-2 PM) at the Owings Mills Library.
And, also speaking of libraries, did you know that the BMQG has an awesome lending library? Dozens of modern quilting books, ready for you to borrow. Check one out at the next meeting!
