If you were a BMQG member by our February meeting, you are eligible to receive 6 fat eights of the fabric pictured above and participate in the Modern Quilt Guild Challenge (#mqgfabricchallenge). We'll be distributing fabric at the April and May meetings.

Our guild is adding a bit more to the challenge. In addition to being quilted, the item should also have a modern quilt ingredient.

Modern quilt ingredients
  • Use of negative space
  • No borders
  • Minimal
  • Bright and graphic color palettes
  • Improvisational piecing
  • Grid work
  • Asymmetry
  • Modern traditionalism
  • Exaggerated scale
  • Pixelization
  • Texture
  • Less is more
The prizes? They are huge! There will be 3 winners and each one will receive a year's worth of fabric.

The challenge has been extended to July 25, 2014. We'll have our reveals at the July meeting.
