April BOM

Hey All!

Even though we didn't do a demo this month, I wanted you to have your block!

Our block this month is King's X. Something easy with our old friend, the half square triangle.

Ingredients:

(2) 7" squares background
(2) 7" squares print
(8) 2.5" squares accent

First, make the hsts with the 7" squares (rst, draw a line down the middle, sew on each side 1/4 inch, cut in half, trim to 6.5" each ~ you know the drill!)

Add the accent squares. Referring to last month tutorial, set up your machine for chain piecing these corner triangles. Add one to diagonal corners of each hst units. Trim, press.

Arrange your blocks carefully (look at the picture!) and sew together in rows and columns. One down!

Different fabric, but you get the idea.

April BMQG Meeting - Free Motion Quilting Workshop

At our April meeting, we had a free motion quilting workshop led by Erin Underwood.  It was amazing how much we were able to cover in three hours.  Erin shared her wealth of knowledge with us on preparing your quilt sandwich, batting suggestions, machine preparation, and a wide range of free motion quilting patterns.  We all feel more inspired and confident after Erin's workshop.
