September Meeting

There was lots of great work from guild members this past month!

Charity Quilts

We continued to collect quilts for the babies and toddlers that are part of the Southeast Baltimore Early Head Start program.  Gayne, one of our members, is the Director at the center. Another member, Amy volunteers at a senior center, and works with several quilters there that donated quilts to our program. We plan to organize a field trip to meet these generous women. Thank you to everyone that is supporting this worthwhile project!

As a group we worked on several large quilts for prizes at our upcoming Quilt Bingo on October 3rd in Pikesville.  Our quilt leads Amy, Deb, Linda, and Laura shared with us how amazing these four group quilts came out.  There will be a lot of competition to be the lucky winners of these beauties!

Show and Share

We had some inspiring quilts part of our show and tell time.  We had to keep it short due to our guest speaker.

Guest Speaker: Gyleen Fitzgerald, "The Art of Color Blending"

Our guild members gave a warm welcome to Gyleen Fitzgerald for spending time with us on how she approaches fabric selection and color choice as part of her design process. The many quilts she shared with us were inspiring.  We especially enjoyed seeing her quilting journey from a design point of view.  Gyleen's unique style, varied use of fabrics, and vibrant color choices motivated us all to step outside our comfort zone.
