About

We are the Baltimore chapter of the Modern Quilt Guild, and we love quilting! Modern quilting is a new twist on an old tradition, but we aren't too picky about the definition. If you think of yourself as a modern quilter, then you're welcome with us.

Our group was founded by Heather Kojan in 2010 as a place to share skills, learn techniques, meet friends, and have fun quilting. Our doors are open to members of all skill levels. Please join us at one of our regular meetings.

The BMQG is a non-profit 501(3)C. We are a group of quilters who get together to share and learn more about our craft, socialize with other quilters and contribute charitably to the community. With our quilts and other sewn items, we contribute to charitably to Early Headstart located in a Homeless Shelter in Baltimore City, House of Ruth, Comfort Cases, and Days for Girls. Recently our outreach efforts have included making masks for many local hospitals and nursing homes.
