Here is the President's Quilt recently presented to Daniela.

This is a tradition for an appreciation of our past president's volunteer service. The quilts was organized by Jan, quilted by Maria, and all of the blocks were made many of our wonderful members. It was truly a team effort. Thank you all.

Here are just a few highlights of some of the quilts our members have recently shared

Show and Share - Looks at the talent from Baltimore MQG!

Below Judy H, Shows us how she has now perfected her embellished quilts. In her “firsts” quilt (not shown here), Judy introduces us to one of the first times she tried embellishments with wool. All of the quilts were lovely.

Stephanie S. made this wonderful bird 2020 quilt (left). Although we were not able to hear the significance of the birds, I have a feeling she might be telling that she is giving 2020 the bird ;)

Janet S. Made this beautiful red and yellow quilt. The shapes are amazing and put together so well. The big hexagon quilt is for her sloth-loving son. He helped pick out the fabrics and is very happy with the end product. Great job Janet!

Stocking alert! Laura B. and Emily have been busy making some holiday decorations that function as gift stuffers. Laura’s (directly below) were a “redo,” after her first attempt was too small for even the smallest of gifts. Emily’s stockings, as indicated by her name on the stocking were embroidered. She used four different patterns to make the stockings. They look great.

Daniela A. has been very busy. She made tree beautiful bags. One bag (dots) used the same fabric as the pattern example. The blue bag used the quilt as you go method and her purse-like bag made use of cork fabric. SewSweetness is her preferred pattern designer for the bags. The beautiful rose mini was made into a quilt for a family member that lost a loved one this year. The rose references a family memory.

Mary S. made this beautiful elephant quilt featuring a rainbow for a family member. There is significant meeting behind the rainbow and each elephant represents a member within that family.

Amy V. took Heather K,.’s “Diamonds on a String” class using mostly pink fabrics (bottom left). She has enough fabric left over to make one more quarter square triangle quilt and a flying geese backing add-on! Great job.

Judy D. finished her 2020 More Modern BOM. She said next she is going to work on the one from the year before.

Phyllis C. is wishing everyone a Merry Christmas with her musical quilt. The tree trunks are music notes with her holiday secret message!

Jenn P. has been happy to also share some holiday spirit with her Christmas colored winter quilt from the Pointed Statement Quilt from During Quilt Time Quilts. She also made a tree skirt from EV Quilts. The May Pole quilt was a 2020 finish from a quilt along

 We are Looking for Firsts!

For the January meeting please send us a picture of your "first" quilt. This doesn't mean you have to dig up that quilt from 1982. It can be any "first." For example, share your first text quilt, applique quilt, or crazy quilt. Maybe you tried something new and made your first QuiltCon quilt or modern quilt. What about your first time using EPP or FPP? Perhaps the first time you used your own label? Or maybe your first time binding a quilt or using free-motion quilting? Whatever your "first" is, please share it with us by emailing a picture and your name to programming@baltimoremqg.com. We can't wait to hear from you!
