Baltimore MQG: October Meeting

Our October meeting was held at the Owings Mills Library, with a special guest in attendance, Susan Emory, owner of Swirly Girls Design. Susan shared with us many of her beautiful quilts, design techniques, and some great tools for accurate cutting and piecing. Susan demonstrated The Creative Grids Circle Savvy Ruler (by Karla Alexander and Swirly Girls Design) and her process for cutting and sewing a block with an inset circle. Guild members enjoyed her varied quilt patterns and bright color palette. Thank you Susan for spending a few hours with us!

We collected quilts for the  Southeast Early Head Start program created by members playing with scale and making a large scale block design.  They were very fun to make, and each child participating in the program receives a quilt and a book. Thank you to our guild members who are very generous with their time.

To close out the meeting, we had many great projects to share with each other.  Everyone has been busy, there were a lot of finishes.
