Baltimore Modern Quilt Guild
 General Meeting, October 2018
Catonsville Public Library

Rose Daley chaired the meeting. She gave out three fat quarters to members with birthdays in October. She introduced the board members present and explained each job.
Nominations for next year’s board positions are being sought. Daniella Sayed and Elizabeth Timmons are the nominating committee. Each job position has two co-chair members with one rotating out of the position each year. Please volunteer to serve!
Our guild retreat scheduled for November is full. There are classes on Friday and Saturday which any member (not just retreat attendees) may take - more news soon via email. All snacks/foods brought to retreat and eaten in public areas must be KOSHER (in order for the center to preserve their certificate); snacks consumed in bedrooms may be non-kosher.
MidAtlantic Mod retreat is planned for the first weekend in May (Thursday through Sunday) at the Doubletree Resort  in Lancaster, PA. As a sponsoring guild, we are allotted ten guaranteed ‘seats’ - there will be a lottery among interested members for these. In addition, there are general ‘seats’ available to all guilds, first-come-first-served. Costs will be about $175 for the retreat plus members MUST stay in a room at the hotel. Registration will open on November 11th.
Our November program will include a zipper pouch swap with members of the DC Modern guild. More news soon via email.
Remember that ALL MEMBERS can attend QuiltCon (even just to see the exhibit) for FREE - sign up to get your tickets on the Modern Guild website. Also all members are eligible to participate in the mini swap organized by the national group.
