General Meeting

Rose Daley presiding. We had three guests. Birthday fat quarters were given out.

The main business at this meeting was the election of 2020 Board members:

Announcements : 

Jane Schiemer has arranged for our guild members to take a tour of the exhibit A Hometown Girl: Contemporary Quilts of Mimi Dietrich. The date will be Sunday, February 2, 2020 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The location is the Maryland Historical Society, 201 W. Monument Street, Baltimore, MD 21201. Tour price (which includes museum admission) is $5 for society members, $14 for adults, $12 for seniors (60+), and $11 for students. Payment is required in advance - by check or cash, made out to BMQG, due no later than the January meeting; pay at a meeting or send to Jane Schiemer (see Members Only area for address).

The New Members Buddy Committee can be signed up for online.

Daniela led a raffle for attendees at the meeting to gift Flatter samples and left-over goodies from retreat (fifteen in all).
Megan Price is the Bingo committee chairperson. She is encouraging guild members to make small quilts as prizes for each game at our bingo (lap quilt sized).

Andee McKenica did some slow stitching on her daughter's pants.




Sue Myers made a scrap vortex top with black and whites.


She also made a stitch and flip star quilt.




Shelby Sanett took a class at Quilt Odyssey to 
create this appliqued, hand quilted project.




Carol Rubin made a whole cloth quilt for her daughter.






Valarie McNeese made a quilt for her mother, "Helen's Garden".  
She worked on a 'Go West" quilt at our guild retreat. 
She made a patchwork turkey pillow for her daughter.



MJ Snyder made a beach quilt with stars.





Jane Schiemer made a wall hanging with floral colors from a UFO; 
she also finished a class project started at the Quilt Festival 
in Houston and included hand beading.




Denise Fedde made a bright quilt top using fabrics by an artist in Iowa as 
well as finishing a quilt top from a class she took at Springwater Designs.




Lauren Stephen made a Minecraft quilt for her 10 year old son.






Ruthie Gumnitzky shared the back and front of a baby quilt she 
made for our Head Start charity project and a 
Sun Bonnet Sue quilt she finished.






Daniela Syed has been busy making things for Autumn including a fabric pumpkin and four small applique animal themed quilts for her nieces for Thanksgiving (using the Zootropolis pattern).




Marissa Krick made a mug rug from a pattern by Cluck, Cluck, Sew.




Laura Baltatzis finished her Quilt In A Box sampler and a wall 
hanging started in a Carolyn Friedlander class. She is 
donating the QIAB sampler to our charity project
 and the Friedlander one for a bingo prize.
